Looks like it could be AEFW.

I say take it out. Chances are that's not the only one you have

If in doubt, get it out. But looks like the types I’ve seen that are coral preditors

This guy was in my invert QT tank. Brand new setup, only things added was a Reefcleaners pack fir a 75 g. This guy came in on one of those snails or crabs.

I mashed him up and put him back in for crab food.

J/k... no, I let him dry out in a Tupperware lid then tossed him in the trash. Felt bad doing it, but it seems like the best call.

I’ve been checking but no sign of any more. I doubt I got lucky enough to only have one, but they have 66 more days in QT so hopefully if there are any more, they’ll die off.

Looks like AEFW will starve in about 5-6 days if they don’t find any acro to feed on, so I should be good.

Was taking a look over my hermits that are in QT, and I saw 2 little thin ‘antennas’ poking out the tip of one of the shells. The tip is broken off and has left a little cavity, housing some sort of critter. It’s not from the hermit.

Very thin, about 1/4- 1/3” long, actively wave around and will retract if disturbed. Any ideas?

Probably a spionid worm. Nothing to worry about.

It's beyond me how vendors who sell a .75in dinky frag for $100-$400 can't guarantee that it's sanitized and free of any of these STD-esque hitchhikers that wreak havoc on the end user's system and end up costing us thousands to deal with

Note on Spirorbid Worms, they can multiply rapidly, and though they haven't caused any problems, I think my calcium levels starting dropping more rapidly than water changes could replenish once they started to muktiply. I've started dosing with Calcification from Aquavitro to address the issue. So, if you start seeing them in large numbers, start monitoring your calcuim more frequently, at least twice a week to see how much more quickly it drops, and determine how best to replenish. I was doing 2-3 water changes a week (3G per in a 14G tank), and decided to start dosing.

Yeah, this bowfront glass is hard to get good pics through. First pic is of one that looks like a little white flower, with a raised cylindrical center. The other I'm worried it might be some type of majano.

Thanks, the second one is in an awkward spot. It's mushroom shaped, purple, and the surface has very short tendril-like things on it. It also has a small conical shape protruding from the center. Sorry, this is going to be my first crack at reef keeping and I'm just trying to get everything lined up for when I can get my nitrates down to acceptable levels and add my first coral.

That could certainly be a majano. The smooth center with tentacles around the outside.
