What is this alage???

Can anyone tell me what kind of algae this is?

Its been growing in my tank for the last couple of years. Since it doesn't bother the fish and I was in college, I couldn't really keep up with maintenance so it is way out of control. It built up along the entire sandbed about half an inch to an inch. It also grew all over the rocks.
