What Is This Little Clam?

Heyyoo guys! What the title says. Its about 1.5 to 2 cm, under an inch. Ai says its probably a baby crocea but we dont trust ai, do we. We-we dont. But anyways, it took 1 year to grow this size. What is it? It is the white thing.

. Dont worry bud, you are not alone. This appeared all the way back in jun 2024. I thought it was some weird rock forming untill a few days ago when i noticed a little crack on it. I taped its shell and it instantly closed. That was when i realised it was a clam. Its mantle is translucent with tiny bristles on the edge. I will try to get better photos. What i do know is that it is incredibly sensitive to changes in light and it also closes immediately when i tap the glass.

Okay, i accidentally tapped the glass and it closed up. But nevertheless, here is a rough out line of it.

its actually bending a little so you cant see the full shape. I will try to get a photo from above later. Here is a photo of the out line where the "mouth" is,.

Not sure this a clam, cant really make out a siphon. Hard to determine the shape as well, looks like there is a sponge growing up one side and algae up the other with a feather duster and aptasia.
Sensory overload

Really it was a sensory overload. I bought a 4 head acan on jan 2024. It died on march 2024. Since then the clam slowly appeared. Then the sponge started to grow underneath it, kinda like a beard. The the feather duster appeared. A few days ago, the aiptasia appeared. I will try to do a digital drawing of it later

All I see is what looks like a white abstract and the rest is black. Faint grey line but mainly black backround. I can see what looks like the upper half of a shell , I’ve had bivalves like this in live rock before.

Hhuuuuuuhh, well, i will try to do a better drawing with a pencil tommorrow and take a pic of it. I will try to get better photos for now.

I doubt that you will get a species name. It’s a bivalve and it’s an indicator of biological mature tank. Considering your location in Malaysia, did the rock come from the surrounding ocean?

Incidently, that’s a gorgeous rock. Is it in the 20G tank with Sally Lightfoot?

Two weeks ago, I added 40pounds of diver collected live rock from the Gulf of Mexico to several systems.. Check out this rock. The bivalve in the center above red encrusting sponge is an oyster, I think.
Also on the rock are orange encrusting bryozones and burgundy tunicates

It is in the 20g tank but i didnt add a sally lightfoot in it. I think you're asking because you read my previous thread, that thread was just me asking if it would be a great addition, not that i already put it in.

But anyways, i actually wouldnt have seen the oyster if you didnt say its exact location.

Just like you, I did not realize I had an oyster until I saw it close up its shell half’s. The Tunicates move a little and squirt water when I move their rock.

I also keep flame scallops that have proven to be quite sensitive and have become my “canary in a coal mine”.
