What is this on my acro?

There is a discoloration almost looks like algae in the center at the base. I bought this Brown from the discount rack. I thought it was coming back with a nice light purple but then I see this in the base and wonder if I'm nursing a dead Canary. I sprayed It with a turkey baster twice and it wouldn't come off. That looks like a dead acro skeleton to me. What you are seeing in the center is where there is no more tissue and algae is starting to grow.

Looks like STN "slow tissue necrosis". Has a million causes but most likely are pest, water quality, infection, or water parameter swings.

Ohh well I've been known to have a case or two of wishful thinking. I agree either is it's dead or STN. I hope it's not pests. I guess I'll keep in the tank a little while longer to grow some more algea. Thank you, Zag
