What is this on my finger leather frag plug

Hi all my leather coral had nog opened up the last 3 days.

Since I put it in the tank there was a little thing on the side of the plug. I is certainly growing and I wonder if it is irritating the finger leather and what this is.

Looks like some kind of mushroom.

Definitely a coral of some sorts....
Either a softie or a mushroom.
