In my novice opinion it appears to be a very large vermetid snail.
I’m not sure I did press my finger down on it I think a Vermetid would of cut me up but still not sure. I have no idea why they have shipped a frag with a hitchhiker so obviously on it I am hoping it’s just a harmless filter feeder till others chime in

100% a vermetid. There are some that are larger then the small ones we normally see in our tanks.

I don't see anything covering the opening, so it may be dead already.

I've had a few of these on corals before. Glue over the opening and it will die on its own.

It looks like the monti is growing up on it. Personally, I wouldn’t worry.

Agreed, If you feel you must do something, any cyanoacrylic glue over the opening will make sure it dies.

Thanks family :) what I’ll do is wait till I feed the corals later and see if I get any life from it I will probably either way glue over it but if it’s already dead then may not need to I’m assuming the larger snails will still emit the stringy stuff when feeding ? I’m used to the small red vermetid never had one like this before

These larger ones I have never seen them cast a mucus net. They ty;ically have small antennae that will stick out of the opening. There is usually a cap like a big tubo snail has that covers the opening.

If there is no "cap" on the tube, it is dead.
