Hi all,

can anyone please help with this issue I’m having, not exactly sure what is is hence posting in the general area.

it’s a fairly new tank about months old, noticed this soft sponge type growth in the sump. Had it before and removed it my weekly water change.

tank is currently going through a diatom bloom, all I can say is that is soft sponge like and it absolutely stinks when I siphon it out.
Any help would be amazing,

Yeah I run a roller filter. And this is right underneath it. Just weird as it looks like some sort of growth.

The white color could be sponge growing in the detritus. I have sponge growing in one corner of my sump where all the detritus accumulates.

Thank you. Will have a good clean later. This “bloom” is getting out of hand. Don’t want to do too much just in case it is diatoms. I should probably create a thread in the correct area for that and ask
