Hi all,
Recently (4 weeks ago) I upgraded my system and transferred everything to my new tank. Suddenly over like a week the tank grew this brown algae that kinda resembles short hair algae but is brown. Currently run 2 hydra 52 for 8 hrs a day with 6 hrs peak intensity. Can y’all id what the algae is? Is it just diatoms although it doesn’t rlly look Like diatoms.

Looks like Dinoflagellates(Dino's) to me also. Not hard to clean up if proper protocols are used.

Start with this thread(Yes I know its 400+ pages, but 99% of the content is in the first 5 or so pages).
