What is this?

So I got this live rock. Thought I saw it move. humm. I noticed today that the lower part that looks like a small rock is some sort of muscle or clam. Any one have any ideas? Tanks is new and cycling you think it will live and what should i feed it? It is about 3 inches long.

Could be a clam from the genus Arca.

its a filter feeder should be fine.
