I descovered this worm looking thing on my Holy Grail hammer. Any ideas as to what it may be.

It actually looks more like mesenterial filaments than a critter though,

Something must have caused irritation to the area of the flesh where it is coming out.

I’d hit it with a toothbrush or finger and see if you can see the source.
