What is this?

New tank set up, been running about 4 months, no coral as of yet. Saw this today and I’m wondering what it is.

Sponges.

Looks like a type of sponge. I have something similar that seemed like it would take over the tank when the tank was younger. I read somewhere that it would subside over time, and sure enough it did within a few months. It's still in the tank, but barely visible.

Yep. Been diving since the early 90's. Landlocked now. Living in Middle of Nowhere Missouri, so I don't get wet as much as I'd like. Planning a trip to the Keys in the spring if I can talk the wife into it.
