What is this?

My tank is only three or four days old just curious what this is on the rock if it’s good algea or bad algea? this rock was completely white when I bought it therefore it wasn’t a live rock so I’m just curious please and thank you!

Agree with @LAA . Looks to be diatoms, and will burn themselves out after a while. Normal algae in a new tank.

Diatoms feed on silicates, which is normally found in new sand.

What did you use for a water source on your first fill?

I used the premixed salt water that I got from my LFS

Then it more then likely is just feeding off the silicates in the new sand. They typically burn out in a week or so.
