What is variance on the AI Nero pumps?

Bringing back this thread because they never really finalized what "Variance" on Nero pumps is and I've been wondering the same thing as I play around with with my pump settings. Do we know?

My assumption is that it changes from Min to Max faster at High variance and slower at Low variance. Anybody know for sure??
