Here is pc rainbow under a lot of par from orpheks. It’s very red even more than photo. This photo is nice tho as it has white balance done and no filters

My pc rainbow is under 425 par and is still brown lol.
Alk-7.8
Cal-450
Mg-1380
PH- 8.3
Temp-79.8-80.8 (never strays more than 1 degree)

I think I just have way to low nutrients since I only have 2 fish in a 180 gallon right now. More fish are on the way, in QT for one more week.

Is it a frag still? What par is it in? What’s your nutrients?
Still a frag, been in the tank 3 months. Honestly I haven’t tested nutrients yet because I have so few fish in the tank, i know this is most likely the reason for the lack of color. It’s a 180 gallon and I only have a yellow corris wrasse and a clown in it. The tank has been running 7 months but I was waiting to add more fish because I run my QT system in my garage and it has been to hot in there to run for the last few months. I moved the qt into my office last month so I have a Desjardini Sailfin, Blue Tang and I Diamond Goby going in next week.

test these every other day-
Alk-7.8 (Hannah)
Cal-450 (Salifert)
Mg-1380 (Salifert)
PH- 8.3 (Apex)
Temp-79.8-80.8 (Apex)

I have a nice frag available and many others. Let me know if you’re interested.
do you have a list of what you have available? Do you ship? I will be interested once i can keep colors up.

What’s weird is I have a RMF Acid Trip, Pink Floyd, Hawkins Enchanita, Asd Rainbow, and green slimer that all show good color and PE. The PC rainbow, Oregon Tort, Pink Lemonade and Fox Flame all look like trash

Definitely need to test nitrate and phosphate also. With such a low fish load you probably need to dose nutrients. But only testing will answer that.

Sounds good. I’ve had great success with 5-10 nitrate and .05-.1 phosphate. I can usually just use reef roids to bring them up when they get low. If they start to get high I use reef chili. I also dose nitrate and phosphate if needed. Pick up the Hanna 774 phosphate checker. Nyos nitrate tester is good also. I’ve had many frags come in green or brown and not color up until after encrusting a lot. Sometimes it just takes time.

Hard to beat a cherry bomb! Although there are a lot of good ones out there such as a confetti and the red mixes with other colors on a pc rainbow is awesome as well

Definitely going to want a cherry bomb and solar flare soon.

Tested nitrate and phosphate today
Nitrate- 0 (salifert)
Phosphate- 0.03 (hanna)

Sailfin, blue tang and diamond goby go in the tank on Saturday

I was going to say princess peach too. Brightest red in my tank. Mine sits next to an oregon tort. Such a beautiful contrast with the bright red right next to a deep blue.
