I've used regular old spray paint before. It holds up well and is a royal pita to remove, which is good unless you want to remove it. I've used regular latex applied with a roller. It looked fine but is not very durable but is easy to touch up. I have not used plasti dip on tanks but it would probably be more durable than latex but easier to remove than spray paint if you can find a color you like. I've never used a magnet scraper on the back because I never clean the back glass. If you clean the back glass then I agree with @The_Paradox vinyl would be best.

The only issue I’ve ever had with plastic-dip is if you leave something magnetic on it for a long time. When you go to remove it, it may remove the coating with it.
