What kinda acro is this?

I got this awhile ago free from a lfs because she didn't think it would live, it's thriving in my tank and i trimmed it to make 2 pieces, I'm unsure of what kind it is so i figured I'd see what you all thought.

Nice acro, kudo's on saving it. I'd just be guessing though. FWIW, the majority of the corals you'll come across will have different common names depending on the supplier/grower or memory of the hobbiest getting rid of stuff. You'll also see the same coral being given different names based on the colors it expresses under different light spectrums. What I would suggest is trying to find the original source of your specimen and use their name.

hard to tell at this stage of growth but if i had to guess, i'd say acropora willsae or appressa. if you're looking for a trade name, good luck until it grows out into mini colony

That would be impossible at this point i would think, after reading a lot more about it i found that for acropora you need a microscope to see the bone structure to identify properly, i don't have a microscope. I was more asking for a scientific name

Been ‘rescuing’ acropora for decades.. at this stage you’re doing a great job!! But too early to see specie.
