Looking to maybe run LEDs on my tank, since halides will be overkill for a FOWLR tank. I do like the pop and color that LED gives, and would like the energy savings as well.

Anybody think of a good and cheap fixture or two that would give me good coverage on a 48 x 36 x 27 tank?

How much control are you looking for?

I personally run 2 AI SOL Blue fixtures over my 36" x 20" x 20" and love them, however, nobody uses "AI" and "cheap" in the same sentence. If you're looking for tons of control (and not DIY), that's my suggestion.

If you're looking for basic control and a high quality fixture I'd suggested looking into the ReefFiltration fixtures. I was running two of the 1st gen fixtures over my tank before I bought the AI's and they were great. I think Luke has a few different options at this point so I'm sure he's got something for ya.

Cool, thanks. Control isn't a big deal for me honestly, and especially not with this tank being fish only. The option, if there, would be nice to switch to totally blue for a dusk/dawn kinda thing, but I could easily do that with some ReefBrites or even VHOs if I wanted to go cheap.

The biggest reason I wanted cheap is that I already have the halides that could work fine with them, but wanted something more energy efficient, and just a different look. I'll check out the ReefFiltration fixtures for sure.

Thanks again.
