My 65 gallon (36"w x 18"d x 24"h) currently has two ai prime hd's. I'm wanting to add in some SPS to my lps/soft reef but people are saying there won't be enough par.

Would the Aquatic Life t5 hybrid with my primes be good? I'd run four Blue+ bulbs.

I also already have a 6 bulb Tek t5 fixture from my first tank I can swap in but I like the colors of the LEDs better, unless they'd grow better than the hybrid setup?

A Kessil A360 or AP700 should do well. A pair of Ai primes should also give you excellent results.

I'm trying to not have to re buy a ton of lighting... the extra $300 for the hybrid would about max me for the moment and I know I can't get more LEDs for that...

Would the t5 hybrid with my current two primes be enough for a mixed reef, and would it be better than my other 6 bulb fixture? Or is is comparable?

To answer your original question. The AquaticLife T5 hybrid WITH your AI Primes, should be an excellent solution. The primes will give you that pop and shimmer along with much of the needed PAR. The T5's will fill in the gaps and eliminate shadowing. This is the route I would take if I was in your shoes.

Would you go hybrid with my primes, or back to a 6 bulb t5 setup for mixed reef?
