Hey all you chalice freaks I'm thinking of setting up a chalice only tank tank dimensions are going to be 4' by 2' by 1' tall so I was just waondering what you guys think I should do for lighting, bulb combos ect. And all the goods what would you do it's going to be connected to my main display

What's the best color combo for t5s I know in general chalices like lower par so I'm thinking a nice blue overall would be nice
And how LEDs would I need for a tank that size?

thats a huge chalice tank, unless you have huge chalices your gonna need a lot of little ones to fill it. lol. T5 has always served me well with my chalices.

Ok so I'm going to go with either a nova extreme or a ATI powermodule if I go with the ATI should I go with the 6, 8, or 10 bulb and should I do the 36" or 48" and what bulb combo should I do ??

I have almost the same dimension tank on the way, I would follow this thread!
For my other tanks I run T5's, and getting great results, but this one I wanna try LED, So if someone uses LED on 1' tank, how high should it be hung, how long does the light be on, ect, ect...
Sorry if I highjackd the thread..

Nah it's cool been wondering sane stuff but I'd say from what I've read I'd hang your LEDs 2' off the tank if you're doing Lps mostly

tek light is good also
for an 24" wide tank, you should have no problem with 4 bulbs 54w 4footer fixture. But if you wana more choices in different spectrum colors then 6 bulbs and 8 bulbs is a lil too much and it is not necessary to used more energy than it needs.

I have a 300 gallon that is 24 wide and 30 deep and use 3 of the Evolution units on it. Chalices are growing like crazy and the colors pop like you are in a 70's disco with blacklights!
