It's just a funny name. Not sure how it's misleading. A bunch of us were just having some fun one day on our local forum chatbox, and came up with the name because the large, round mounds of the original colony looked kinda ****** like. :bigsmile: Chalice names were so serious back then (lame) or actually named after someone (lame x 2) that we thought a little humor was needed...

I'm not aware of "******" carrying any general descriptive connotation like "watermelon".

chalices don't just "grow" boobs, yo. they encrust whatever they're growing on.

if you want them to have "mammary glands", you need to start growing them on something with that shape.

Actually, I think they do. It takes a long time. For the mounds to be due to the rock that it grew on, it would be impossible odds to have the mouth to ALWAYS develop at the top of the mound.

...and come to think of it, i've seen several large chalice colonies with "mound" type eyes.

i stand corrected! (actually i'm sitting, but that's besides the point)

my mother colony is growing bumpy in the center of the colony....thats what makes me think it takes along time to grow like that....are these ******* growing on my colony ?????LOL
