Everyone needs to get on board with the non mixed di resin. I’ve saved so much $ since I use them separately. I have 3 di containers. 1st caiton, 2nd anion, 3rd mixed bed. I almost never have to change the mixed bed anymore. The anion goes quickly, but then again I have a 700g system that gets 60g changes every week or 2 lately.

BRS 6-stage. Very good quality, makes like 125ga/day. Reasonable price, and it can be moved to various locations easily. If I were to buy a handful of the in-line under sink fittings and in-line cutoffs, I could even loan it to friends. But I don't have any local reef tank friends :-( yet...

A vertex Puratek 3 stage, been using it a few years now without issue. Chose it as it was the least expensive one at my local store.

@LukeWolf What is the TDS coming out of your well? Mine is very low but I have yet to send it in for ICP analysis just to find out exactly whats in it. Right now I am running through a RO/DI but have thought about skipping the RO and going just through DI.
I dont know what my TDS from well is. I have not tested it. only thing I have tested in it is to make sure it was safe for drinking (so chemicals, iron I think, ph, kh, and other things)

I started with a API Tap Water Purifier, then added an AquaFX bare bones to that which at the time was an RO and sediment filter combo. My setup is now made up a carbon block, 50 gpd RO/DI.

BRS 4 stage RO/DI with the pro upgrade dual TDS meter. I love this unit, and I am fortunate enough to have “good” tap water. Relatively low TDS and no chloramines....

I use the BRS 6 stage water saver plus 150gpd.

I am on San Antonio city water which is pretty rough stuff in my opinion. However, I wasn't born and raised here so I am not used to it. It'll stain fixtures in a short period of time.

So, I have a Jason's whole house water softener for the house. The BRS unit is fed the softened water.

I also use the separate anion/cation media and only one ever gets used up (forget which right off) and the other looks like the day I put it in.

For those that may be curious below is a link to the water softener:

I'm currently using a BRS 7 stage 150gpd water saver unit. I absolutely love it :)

I built my own by buying the parts separately from BRS. There's not much to making your own with all the bells and whistles and stringing some tubing together. Only thing I took from a friend was the bracket.

Though I've been looking at the Puratek unit. Seems like great value for what you get.

Bought an aquatic life twist on unit because it does great delivery and takes up little space. At last minute got a good deal on marine Depot 4 stage unit.
Now reading on the twist on unit and almost tempted to use it. Way easy to use, change cartridges which is cheaper than resin

I use a 16 year old AquaFX 5-stage Mako RO/DI unit. Still going strong.
My AquaFX is only 15 years old but I have added a BRS Monster to take care of the Chloramines and a separate DI canister. Other than that all the O rings and containers are original.
