Patience is key and you still have the anemone to deal with so not for a month at least til you add the next fish. This tank has only been up less than a week, but was a tank transfer from a 5 gallon.
I agree 100% with with they said. But if you must make sure it is a very hearty fish do your research before you purchase anything.

I am not recommending you get this fish but I wanted to share it with you if it’s something you may be interested in. It’s what they call a dwarf lion fish. It’s called a fu Manchu. I believe it is recommended 30 gallons or more but I have had this fish before in a 20 gallon.

hi guys so I have a twenty long that currently has a pair of snowflake clownfish and a bubbletip anemone. And I was wondering what sort of fish could I put in this tank? Any suggestions would be great!
I will list here the types of fish I would like to have in this tank and I would be great if you could tell me if those fish will be ok In a 20 long.
1.) 1 bang eye cardinal fish
2.) 1 pajama cardinal fish
3.) 1 firefish
4.) 1 royal gramma or a orchid dottyback
5.) 1watchman goby
6.) 1 three striped damsel fish
7.) 1 jewel damsel fish or a blue velvet damselfish
8.) 1 flameback angelfish
9.) 1 green chromis
10.) 1 pistol shrimp
11.) 1 tuxedo sea urchin
12.) 1 cleaner shrimp

Would any of these fish/inverts be ok in a 20 long?

You could definitely do all the inverts that you listed, I wouldn’t recommend the angel or damsels tho

How come I have to let it cycle when everything in it has cycled for about 4 months since almost everything in there is from the 5 gallon and the 5 gallon was cycled for 4 months. And I put live sand in there along with my old rocks old sand and old filter and filter media.

extra water and surface area in new tank will almost certainly cause a new cycle.

they should be just monitor ammonia and buy some bottled bacteria for the side to help speed it along. i used fritzzyme 9 because it has stuff that also neutrilizes ammonia in emergencies

That’s whT I thought too but things don’t work like that, I asked around so much cause it makes sense that if you use media, sand, live, rocks, and the media then your tank should be cycled. I don’t understand either

Finish your rock scape before you do anything else please. Forget everything else and all the bacteria and all that. Finish ur rockscape.
