What should I do with these?

I just acquired 2 emperor aquatics UV sterilizers. One, the 80 watt, is 42" long and I don't think it will work on my 200-gallon system.

The other one, a 25 watt, I think will work well.

I think I should sell the 80, and plumb in the 25 :)

I am running a 40W (35" tall) Lifegard Aquatics on a 105G and do not experience any excess heat at all. I never even thought of UV bulbs giving off heat as being an issue. Maybe somebody else can chime in for additional help.

Ok, got it- what GPH do you run through it?

To be honest, I don't even remember....I have been running it over a year on an adjustable pump so that I can slow it down to help with parasites or speed it up to turn over more water for bacterial/algae issues. I set it to help with Dino's (which it worked very well) and haven't touched the GPH since. Each UV unit should provide recommended flow rates for that unit though.
