For a heavy load 180, I would go with a Reef Octopus Regal 200SSS. They are also 25 percent off right now. I just purchased a Reef Octopus 250SSS for my 225 gal tank. I had a 150SSS on my 120 gal tank and they are a beast of a skimmer. ;)
Nice I just bought the 200 sss from marine depot last night.

I currently have a reef octopus Sro3000 for my 300g and not happy with it, after doing a lot of research I made a call to Jeff at lifereef and ordered a 30” from him. Can’t wait to get it and set it up. Give him a call.

Look at Jeff's new dual Venturi 30" model. This is on my upgrade wish list. Below is my current with single mazzei and Vectra M2. I would love to upgrade and run dual mazzei's with dual Vectras.

I have a Tunze 9430 AC on my 180 and it’s perfect. I feed like crazy and have a massive fish load and this thing keeps everything sparkling clean. Not a trace of algae anywhere.

I also vouch for tunze skimmers. They don’t have much hype around them but of all the skimmers I’ve owned they have been the best.
No fancy bells and whistles, they just work.

If not tunze royal exclusive makes some awesome skimmers as well. Trust the Germans to make good stuff.
