Just what the title says. In your experience, what tang ate the most algae? I know all tangs are different in algae preferences, but I believe there will be a common trend.

For me the zebrasoma tangs were good at eating macro algae while ctenochaetus tangs ate the most film algae.

My yellow spends his entire day pecking at the rocks. I'm guessing he eats every algae other than coralline because that's the only algae in my tank.

Not entirely sure how to best answer the poll. Ctenochaetus tangs are the best as a group for slime and film algae - pretty obvious based on the mouth structure - chevron is my favored species. Zebrasomas are the best as a group for hair algae - again pretty obvious based on the mouth structure - they can be hit or miss though - no personal species preference. My all time best algae eater, however, was a convict tang. He ate everything.

My PBT grazes all day long and he even goes after any nuisance algae.

Rabbit fish (although not tangs) are the best from a strictly algae eating standpoint. Bristletooth are great at film algae.

I wish my One Spot would get his butt in and start doing taking care of mine. I must have the only Foxface/Rabbitfish that doesn't do much algae grazing. Then again I do feed seaweed each day.

My PBT gets a full sheet of Nori daily also! He’s a pig.

I don't feed it that much. Maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of a sheet in two separate strips (I have 2 clips to help reduce aggression at feeding time and stick a small strip in each one). The foxface is like a chipper/shredder for the seaweed though.
