Just curious what experienced reefing friends have been using to keep their systems running

I bought the hanna multimeter which have been happy with or salifert/ left over redsea to cross check nitrates/ phosphates sometimes

I use Hanna for nitrate and phosphate.

I use a diy alk titration.

I do not measure calcium or magnesium.

During Covid Hanna products were not available so I don't know anything about them. I use Salifert as the syringe plunger is flat and easy to read unlike API with standard plunger. Also Salifert cautions about trying to purge the air out and compensates for that

Yea ive definitely purged air and recently got a pipette with muti ml setting. Lifechanging!

Only Hanna but also a ICP-MS test for other elements and to cpmpare with the hanna results.

  • GHL Probes for Temperature, Redox/ORP, and pH
I additionally have an Inkbird with 2 probes for temperature, to make sure failing probes won't get unnoticed
  • HannaChecker for Phosphate (Ultra Low Resolution Phosphorus version) and Alkalinity
  • HannaInst. UPW and PWT for ensuring my RO/DI water is still sufficiently filtered
  • Salifert for Nitrate, Calcium, etc.
I also like to use Salifert to compare with the alkalinity readings of my HannaChecker as the HannaInst. reagent goes bad quite "fast" and will show very low readings.
For everything else there is no real alternative to ICP-MS or at least ICP-OES. If I get my HannaInst. pH meter working properly again, I might take the DIY alkalinity tritration approach soon.
