I currently am having a problem with storing my reef related items in the living room.
I live in California and rent is not cheap so a one bed room house is all I can afford.
Here is my layout in our living room. Problem is the shelf I currently use causes me to just stack everything on top of each other.
I also have a girlfriend that doesn't want an eye sore in the living room.
Here is the current setup don't mind the glass tomorrow is water change day and glass clean up.

Any tricks on organizing everything other then a fish room...

I keep all of our reef equipment in three spots: under the tank, under our bathroom sink, and in a little London phone booth my wife has had for 10-15+ years

In our house our basement is unfinished with a little tuck away spot where I kept all my reefing equipment and water mixing station. Built shelves on the walls to store stuff and ro/di unit was mounted to the wall next to the mixing station. It was an little 4x5 area but worked perfectly.

Personally I think your storage bin shelf looks nice and matches the tank stand. I'd be good with it :)
