We have one she's in now. I just really think it's a waste to try and save this one as bad of shape as it seems to be in.

It would probably be good to have proper meds on hand though. I used our last bit of prazi last week.

We have literally nothing close that supplies this stuff, so all will have to be ordered. Besides prazi, what else would you recommend? Thanks!

I'd recommend you listen to Jay and Vetteguy.

I'd get whatever product, overnight.

And I'd get video of the blue hippo so these two experts can help you.

As you can tell I'm not fond of giving up. It is our responsibility to do everything we can for the livestock we purchase, IMO.

Can't get any good video where the tank is (under our main display). It looks like the first picture I posted. She's literally just lying in a spot I can't get video of and you can't see much. Just on her side, fins "trying to swim movement", breathing, and that's it.

I'll try to get these meds ASAP for it and any other future issues.

Should I still be trying to feed anything to this tang? I just moved a rock trying to find it and it swam on its side across the bottom of the tank and then found itself another little spot to hide in. It doesn't seem to be breathing fast anymore, and no ich spots.

I tried getting a video but it lodges itself in a spot where you can't see it at all every time.

So lost on how this one is doing

If it is alone in that tank (so that you are sure it isn't being chased into the rocks by another fish) then all you can really do, in the absence of any symptoms, is to begin a general new fish quarantine process:

The hippo is still alive surprisingly, but it feels like it's just I'm waiting for it to pass. Don't want it to suffer but I don't see how it recovers

was able to remove my fish i bought from lfs with ich, without a problem. oddly enough, it was a blue tang. thank god i got it out before it spread to others. not sure if you can catch the emperor but putting him and the tang in a QT with coppersafe is your best bet.

Never take a LFS's word on it being "quarantined" unless it came from a reputable quarantined vendor. Keeping the type of bio-security to fully quarantine an animal in a fish store is incredibly difficult and most do not take the proper procedures for a full quarantine. Best to quarantine yourself in the future before adding to your display.

Meds aren't here yet but I checked on the tang today.

Still alive, doesn't look like any spots are left.

It only would swim on its side along the bottom of the tank and upside down, but as soon as I put the rock back down, it immediately swims towards it for a hiding spot inside the little cave part.

Hopefully some meds may fix this one, but I still have my doubts.

Daughter just found her passed in the qt tank. Needless to say she's very upset about it :(

So I know the opinion is the mean green uv sterilizers don't do much for parasites being only 24 watts, but I replaced mine ours Monday on our 125.

Since, the majestic angel is acting much better and the spots are going down each day. Mimic tang never showed any signs of ich or velvet and everyone seems to be holding up perfectly.

If we get any other tang in the next few months, we will absolutely qt first. I would love to try another blue tang, but as timid and ease of showing ich as they are, it may just not be the right extra tang for us.

Possibly thinking of a white tail bristletooth in a few months.

"Quarantined" can mean a lot of different things. Find out what your lfs quarantine procedure is and how long. Its probably not medicated strong enough for long enough to rid all disease. Even if the lfs was medicating strong enough, if you bought it before the 30 day protocol was up it can bring the disease to your tank. Sounds like you and them have good communication so i would ask what their procedure is (get very specific details) for future reference so you can complete any unfinished treatment on your next fish purchases.
The next thing is IMO the 75 wont be big enough for the majestic or a lot of the tangs available for very long either. Think double your size at minimum. I hope the majestic is still, and remains healthy.

I just re-read your posts and looks like your tank is a 125 now which is better.
