Is there any aptasia around the area that may be irritating it? Just a thought, If it continues to receed, a dip "may" help but it may stress it out as well. If it is getting worse, I would dip it. If it remains the same, I would let it go and see if it can heal on it's own.

I had one way worse than that... dipped it.... place in low flow.... now a puffy boy that's ready to always eat. bleeding apple scoly.
