What type of algae is this ? I took this picture early this mourning under white light without the blues on. It started about 2 weeks ago and is growing rapidly. I have a small tang and fox face, about 20 hermits several snails and 1 small emerald crab. They don’t appear to be interested in eating this algae. I have 20 more hermits and a few more small emeralds coming from reef cleaners. I just started to treat the water with 15 mls of vibrant 5 days ago. Should I be doing something different or stay the coarse.
I do weekly 10 % water changes . It is a 120 gallon tank, 1 year old , nitrates 20-25 ppm and phosphates close to zero although the phosphates did spike prior to the algae out break.
I am running a skimmer with 2 BRS reactors , 1 carbon and 1 GFO reactor. ( GFO reactor was added after the phosphate up tick ) I had a refugium going until I added the vibrant but since moved the Chaeto to a holding tank until the vibrant treatments are over. I can not remove the rock to treat it with hydrogen peroxide.
