So I decided to clean the return pump for my 10g nano reef because I have forgotten to clean it ever since i got the tank a while back. The pump was starting to lose its power so I pulled it out and started to scrub the impeller and return nozzle when I noticed something... rust.. I started to panic a little bit and pulled the tubing for the return out as well and I couldnt beleive what I found. I used a paperclip to secure the tube to the pump for some unknown reason.
The paperclip was beyond disolved and just fell off when I touched it. It was absolutly disgusting and i ran a 50% waterchange immediately. I'm suprised all my coral is happy and healthy with how bad this was. I have no recollection of ever doing this and I am just stunned that I did It in the first place, like what was going on in my head!
I doubt I'll have any Ill effects because nothing bad has happened in all the months it's been rusting bit still...wow...
