Because at the time I was a newbie and didn’t really know about compatibility or cycling etc. and the two of them survived and got along fine. And Facebook and Petco was wrong about everything.

Wow!
In all the world, you meet those who nothing they know it all. Instead of basing it off personality. Although, I had someone ( fish company) tell me if I had enough space, I could house 2 lawmower blennies together. That was a mistake.
I had 2 flame clowns and one was mean as hell. He would bite me everytime I put my hand in the tank.

Ok... if you could pick, Lawnmower Blenny... or starry?
Gahhh, idk. Lawnmower blennies look like old men and I love them. Ill have to see this guys personality. I've never had the starry. This will be my first.
I've only read that maroon are aggressive. Have you encountered one?

YES! THATS EXACTLY WHAT MY MOM SAID. WE NAMED HIM OLD MAN PSALMY CAUSE THE NEIGHBOR KID SOMETHING. WE TRADED HIM TO THE FISH STORE WHEN WE MOVED
Yellow Tail Blue Damsels, a pair. People said to use them to cycle a tank, when I first started. I did so, but everyone said “if they survive”, which meant there was a high chance they’d not make it. I did my best, and they survived. They lived through all my tanks. First a community tank, then a mostly Invertebrate tank, another community tank, a reef tank, and then a predator tank. They thrived the most in the predator tank, and were the bosses. Their tank mates included a Humu Trigger, a Lunare Wrasse, a Maroon Clown, a Zebra Moray Eel, A Jeweled Carribean Damsel, a Scopas Tang, a Blood Red Hawaiian Hawkfish, and a Valentini Puffer. They even made it when I had a not so bright idea of adding an undulate trigger that was a monster, that only lasted a few days. They survived it all. And to this day, they are still one of my favorite fish.

Tsk tsk tsk... yes. I have one in my 55... A Gold Banded Maroon. He tried to attack my AE Filefish but got poked... he kicks up sand near this little cave. He always tries to chase new fish when we put them in, and sometimes, when we are doing a water change he will charge and act like he might bite me!
Thats hilarious! Currently I have no clowns. Maybe I'll try one out. My flames died in my tank disease disaster.
You know who won't die...my idiot banana wrasse. He used to make me.so dang mad. Knocking all my corals off rocks. Even glued somehow.

He is a really great addition! Just make sure you're other fish are compatable, but I reccomend looking into it!
