What's going on with my leather?

My leather is about three weeks old and isn't looking to good. Can someone please tell me what could be going on with it? I have a 55g My parameters are as followed

Ph 8.2
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate.5
Phosphate 0.03
Cal 450
Alk 8.1
Mag 1400
I'm running t5's 2 ati blue pulse 1 10k white and 1 atinic. 2 hydor 850, reef octopus 110 skinner on a reef octopus 20g sump with BRS gfo and carbon reactor.

leathers can be finicky. The polyps will close for several days, then the surface gets really shiny, then that shiny layer will peel off like dead skin. its a similar action to molting as it grows larger.
