What's in your scoly?

Well, I am feeling really good after yesterday. The scoly ate some mysis very fast and even when for a larger chunk later, but the basslet claimed it first. Still not interested in Fauna Marin pellets, but I am just going to lay off of those until now. It's really like the chunks/food from Rod's reef so we will stick with that. As for the coloring, not a dramatic difference, but I am starting to see what I believe is the pigment thickening and starting to re-establish more. What I mean by that is when the lights are on you see the colors (as in my pics above), but when the lights are off, it's very pale. It's starting to have that defined color in areas now regardless of the lighting. To me this is huge. I also realized I should have started a scoly recovering project thread instead of just this one. I actually have two other scolys recovering at this same time so it's like a frustrating project from you know where. The other one is actually pictured above, it's missing a pie slice from it that is very very slow to recover. Otherwise, what's there is doing well. The other is in my 39 and is a multi year project. I got the scoly back in 2009, a huge master beauty. I got lazy and it got bad. Lost a lot of tissue and at one point I actually thought I was going to lose it. Well, I started it on a recovery project over a year ago and it is slowly coming back. Not sure the timeline, but I will see what I have for before and after pics. I am just thrilled to see it growing over exposed skeleton. that was the biggest accomplishment for me. Starting to prove that patience pays off...patience is not something I'm good with, these have all been a true test. :)

Scoly seems to be continuing to come along well. Eating and coloring up. Not a lot of tissue growth, but that is usually slower on the edges of these guys in my experience. Still not getting the coloring on want in the photo, but you get the idea.

Wow you have some stomach to do surgery on a scoly haha! That is a freaking amazing read I always bayer my stuff did you dip it and the dip did nothing or did you just introduce it to your tank? Either way great job dude that is incredible I am stoked for you!

I definitely dipped it, more than once. I was using Revive. I dipped it when I put it in my tank and then multiple times when I realized there was something in it and when I did surgery. Unfortunately I guess the Revive didn't kill the clam, but I'm assuming it did aid in the recovery.
