Whats my bubble tip doing?

Had this bubble tip about 1 week and the last couple days it's been acting kinda weird. Thought it was dead this morning. It was upside down in the sand. Now it's flipped back over and has moved a few inches and tentacles has come out a little more but it just doesn't seem right. Iv tired feeding it a couple times since i got it but it doesnt seem to want to take any food. My condi anemone that iv had for a few weeks is doing great.

Bubble tip anemones need high light. The cave is not a good spot. Move it up higher on the rock work. If it's foot is too weak to attach try using rubber bands (these can be removed once it secures) or putting a cup with a hole in the top over it, until it secures.

Ok ill give that a try. It seems like it was trying to hide from the light so I turned my blues down a bit

Hey there. Sorry to see that you're having problems. That nem definitely looks unhealthy. I have a few questions:

First, please tell me your parameters?
Second, how old is your tank? BTAs, while relatively hardy, still require the stable conditions found in a more mature system (about a year old to be safe).

Third, when you touch the foot, does it feel sticky?

Finally, do you have flow guards on your powerheads?

He's in pretty rough shape, it will take awhile to recover, if it's able to.

If the mouth is open and doesn't close, shes really sick. And in the current reef world, i dont know if we have options now to help them.

I see the bta picture, but not the mouth.

2 nitrate Probably low due to the chaeto I have in my sump.

Alkalinity 9dkh

8ish ph red sea test kit is kinda hard to read ph

Phosphate .25ppm

Tank is about 2 months old

I have Jabeo scp120 wakemakers no guards besides how it's built. I was going to get some foam guards to put over them just to mainly help with flow because even on the lowest setting it seems like to much

Lighting is viparspectra and I have it set at about 40% for blues

I havnt felt it's foot but I just turned the wavemaker back on and he seems to be connected to the rock I put him on pretty good

If it is holding on, it is a good sign. Wrap the guards with a thin foam if you have it and secure it with rubber bands. If it lets go it will end in catastrophe.

Your system is really way to young to support nems. The condy doesn't count- they can survive in sewer water.

Like @Goaway said, look at the mouth. If it is staying open it is no bueno. Since it is hanging on I would monitor it for 24 hrs.

Looks like a carpet anemone with stubby tentacles and a wide body. Does it have a large gaping mouth / gut cavity?
