Hello,

I just built a 10 gallon sump for my tank so I can replace my canister filter with a protein skimmer and refugium. I need to take everything offline for the most part, should I just leave one powerhead on to keep circulation going and the heater? I'd have the filter offline for probably an hour or so as well as the light.

Should I be okay with that plan? I have coral and fish

With the powerhead and heater you are good for a couple hours. I did the same with mine when i replaced my return pump. I moved a heater into the display and left the powerheads running. I upsized the return pipes from 3/4 to 1 inch too, which i pre built to minimize down time, but still, everything was offline for a few hours. Nothing even skipped a beat.

1 powerhead will get you by. Fish and coral spend much more time in nothing when coming home from LFS
