What is the smallest reef tank you have ever had? For me it was a 20L.

I had a 6 gallon nano with two clowns and one anemone that expended all the way across the top of the tank. It was on the night stand next to the bed and ran great.

When we moved, I stuck the livestock into the new main tank, and then never pulled them out. After a few months of letting the tank sit empty, I finally sold it.

Right now, the smallest tank I have is a 24 gallon nano. I doubt I will go smaller than that again.

I've set up a couple nanos for SW, but they were more or less specimen tanks rather than reefs... the smallest "reef" I've had was an Oceanic 40 gal stretch-hex, and it was an awesome tank!
135 gallon....Sorry started big!
You're a nut... and I love it :D

Does a 1/2 gallon betta tank with some live rock a couple hermits and some chaeto count as a reef? If so .5 gallon would be the smallest for me. It was funny I could do a 50% water change with a solo cup!!!

I had a 3g (still do.....it's just LR and macroalgae, with one snail) that did really well. The 9w was just enough for zoanthids and shrooms. Upgraded to 2x18w and things flourished.

I've since moved everything to another tank. The Pico comes down this week to make way for a 3g freshwater shrimp tank.

Here are some shots from a 20L I used to have. No fish, just coral. I like to call it my COWLR tank.

I'd love to see some pics of pico and nano tanks. Let's see what others are doing with limited space.

I had a 10 gallon saltwater tank when I started the hobby two years ago. I then found out that it is much easier to keep a larger tank stable, so I upgraded.
