It's a massive refugium light for big refugium a small one doesn't need this.
Also they list the coverage size...
Recommended Coverage (w/Narrow Reflector): 24" x 24"

Oh, I completely agree on all counts. If reality matched the advertised numbers I'd be quite happy with it because it is such a beast.

But at 2ft high under my stand it illuminates from end to end, nearly 5 feet across, even with the narrow reflector. They advertise the reflector as 55 degrees, but the light pattern looks to be closer to 120 degrees even with the reflector.

I didn't feel like taking a $50 hit trying to return it, so I'm going to see if I can make either a shroud or a spacer for the reflector in order to tame the lighting width down to a more usable width.

Not 2 feet in the air. 2 feet from the bottom of the sump. So only about 6” above the rim. My fault on the confusion there.

Looks like Kessil actually thought the same thing about needing a narrower light pattern.
I had emailed them to give them my feedback, and apparently they just released their fix today for the issue.
New narrower 35 degree reflector.
