Will the Female Blue Star stay female?

That's really hard to judge. If it's the only female leopard, then you got good odds, but if at any point, something triggers its biological change, then you could be looking at a male. That usually only happens when a smaller female is present, or the dominant female in a harem dies, and it almost never occurs in a harem.

I had a blue leopard wrasse ordered and seller advised me it wasn't doing well so it wasn't shipped

now im not sure if I can add another wrasse with my orange back and timor -- would love to go a pair or blue leopard wrasse (male and female)

so needless to say -- the blue leopard wrasse is my favorite of them all

I thought I read that all indivisual wrasses in a tank would become male?

They are haremic in nature so general Wrasse rules do not apply.

I've had it a year now. Its doing great and eats very well. Has grown about 1.5" since I bought him. Im contemplating getting another one.

Ive never owned a potters but it for sure is one of the most beautiful in my opinion. I currently have a ornate which is a pretty fish but its dark so you only see the patterns in certain light.

I’ve always been partial to the blue star leopard. I have one in my tank and it’s a show-stopping fish.

I agree the females of most look better than the males, but pretty much cant go wrong with any of them. Choati, Potters, or kuteri are all very pretty but just a standard leopard wrasse is very pretty too. I have had bluestar, standard, black and more recently a Kuteri unfortunately the Kuteri went into the sand and never came back out.

A few years ago no one could ever keep them alive, so I am so glad yours is doing so well. What did your QT process look like?

I dont quarantine anything. I follow @Paul B methods by feeding live and whole food source as much as possible. Before I added the Choati I put around 5-6000 amphipods in the tank. They are really not that difficult to take care of. I think the collection and handling is the worst part. If you can find a healthy one its a breeze.
