Whats your next project?

I need to do this but upgrade my 4 foot tank to a 6 foot. If I had it to do over again I should have just showed up with a 6 foot tank and been done with it lol. Tangs make a 4’ tank feel real small fast. Good luck whatever way you go. I know what it’s like to have a spouse 🙄
Gotta keep the peace
Thats where im at. That said, my next tank is going to be a built in and I think i'm gonna be closer to 8' otherwise it's a waste of the closet space I'll be losing in the room behind it!

I don’t have space for a built in, but do want to utilize the main wall in our living room where the tv currently hangs! She had originally wanted the tv over the fireplace which would fix this but of course now she likes the tv on that wall lol
My tank is only a year old and we have a 3 week old baby girl. I’m gonna slow play this one and wait until her primary fish request (Dori of course) is a foot long in a 4 foot tank. Then it will give me some ammo 😈
Lol
I kid I kid but seriously

Yea, I got a 18m old and one in the oven, the wife won't let me upgrade anytime soon hahaha

De-automating my system.

It's actually more work and very inaccurate.
I have a little automation, mostly just for temp/ph monitoring, temp control, and controlling powerheads/return pump for feeding schedules. Idk how extensive i could get before I'd worry about it failing or glitching on me.

Just spent this last weekend downsizing/upgrading my system.
380G system to a Redsea s1000

Next project is rework the return pumps, finish installing all the extras, build floating canopy, figure out my new to me used apex, finish my water change station and run a line for ATO under the house.

Then once this system is complete happy and stable, Help my wife set up a 100-120G for herself. She wants a tank for herself because she likes clowns and anemones and plus other things that are not so reef safe. IE chocolate chip starfish. Told her she will need to take care of it then. I think she is excited.

That sounds amazing! Im actually planning on building a canopy for my tank soon and was considering a floating style as well!

What kinds of clowns? Got your eye on anything in particular? I really wish maroons were more peaceful as I love that deep dark red color!

Ocellaris. My old trio was ocellaris, as were the others I recently saw. Might be coincidence that they are also less aggressive than most species, but I’ll stick with them. Not sure if it will be wild type, or one of the newer types (da Vinci or gladiator).

Yea I love maroons also. I have one in my acro ext 170. They are not aggressive as a single unit, imo, nothing to gaurd, lol. I have a pair of naked clowns in my 35.

Once my pair moves to a new tank i think im considering a maroon. Definitely a single. I learned my lesson with my first pair haha

I plan to ad an Ikea Wardrobe between my tank and the wall to house a 50G Kalk storage tank, dosing equipment and supplies.

With the floating canopy I will house all the ballast and wiring and hopefully only have one wire bridging to the Wardrobe.

Love the Ocellalris clowns. My old 30g had a pair that bred continously. I have always thought about multiple but never did. The size of your nem will help with the 3, imo.

My plan is to build and stand and plumb this 40 breeder into my waterbox 130! Probably be a winter project tho
Nice! I plumbed a 30g into my old 120. 16hds attatched to the 120, lol.
