ive recently bought a Red Sea reefer 250, I transferred the rock 50% of the water and media from the sump from my old tank, all the fish and corals have settled well and parameters have stayed stable , my pair of clowns were breeding and I’m considering getting them an anemone and I’m wondering how long should I wait before I add one

Thanks, I’m kind of torn how to view my tank it’s like my old tank in a new shell , I am thinking I should wait but thought I’d put it out there and see what everyone thinks

With all the rock old and cured i wouldnt be too worried it should be fine as long as parameters are stable.

Did your parameters stay stable after the move? At the minute mines the same as the old tank except the nitrate is lower

They went off at times. I just changed water until they were good again.
I went from a 30 to a 56 and then to a 75.

This tank got moved a month ago because we bought a new house.
Tank maturity is a matter of making sure certain things happen and not how much time has passed.

Looks great , I love looking at the new tank it’s like being a big kid again checking everything out and I feel like I’ve made a good move for my fishy family

It looks to me you would be fine adding a nem.
I just added my second. It has been a little angry from getting stuffed in a bag and a box. It is looking better today.

With taking water and rock out of a established tank I wouldn’t see why after a few weeks of stable conditions you couldn’t add a bta

If the old tank was mature and you just moved everything over then you should be fine. I’d give it a couple of weeks just to let everything settle though and make sure you are stable. If you can try and get a tank split Bta from a local reefer and not a mail order one.
