When to glue your corals

I bought some sps frags on eBay almost two weeks ago everything is doing great I have them on my frag racks how long should I wait before placing them or glue them to permanent place?

I do it right away. The frag rack is to light acclimate them. If they are going to the same level up as your light you should be good to go.

1-2 weeks is a loose guideline. If corals look happy and acclimated then ur good to go.

I really wanted to say something profound and interesting -- but everyone above beat me to it. As soon as my frags look happy at a certain depth, I glue them.

The sooner you get them into their permanent place, the better. Let them start getting them used to their new flow and lighting conditions.

Either way is fine. If they’ve started to lay down a good base on the plug, I will cut off the peg with a pair of snips so only the upper disc remains, this is easier to glue into rockwork.

In the future, if the corals are not heavily encrusted when you first receive them, consider removing them from plugs prior to dipping, since pest eggs can come in attached to the plug. You can re-glue them to clean plugs after dipping.
