We speak of and hear of many corals both beginner and expert. There is a lot of focus on SPS and corals such as Acans, xenia and zoas. There has not been much mentioned about leather coral. They come in many shapes, types and colors and are one of the hardiest corals out there. Give them light and flow and you can easily have a garden of these corals.
They even shed a thin layer of mucus to clean themselves which adds to their hardiness and offer some of the nicest polyp formations. I recommend running carbon with these corals as they can release a toxin called terpenes which can make neighbor corals unhappy
Who has leathers, how long have you had them and what do you like best about them in your tank?
Feel free to post pics
