I would like to to do a dyi aquarium. I m trying to learn more about this and build a glass aquarium. Is the DYI route worth it (would the price really be lower than a new or used one) I cannot afford plexiglass that's for sure. I looked at home depots and Lowes and they where not selling glass for a 75 gallon aquarium. I looked at eBay and they have expansive prices, almost as high as a new one. What is the best route to get a cheap 75 aquarium tank. I m welling to buy an older one and reseal it and use it. I m new to this I can use couple advices on where to find a cheap one that I can afford.

New (when on sale) or used is your best bet if you don’t feel comfortable building your own tank. Getting quality glass at a reasonable price; a glass shop will be your best bet.

Petco sometimes does a dollar a gallon sale, You could get a 50 gallon tank for $50. If you truly want a diy tank I would look for a local glass shop and talk to them about your needs

Craigslist is going to be a much more cost effective option. Buying quality glass in minimal volume you wont save much(if any) over a cheaper brand new 75g....and much more than a used one will cost.
