I can’t really judge how big he is but maybe try some ghost shrimp to get him to eat in a more natural way?

Hes not quite big enough for them yet. As long as hes eating im not worried about it. I can always add selcon to whatever he is eating to make sure hes getting all the nutrition he needs.

Im sad to report 2×4s passing. Since i got him he only ate a single bite of food. I had an emergency with the frag tank and had to move him temporarily to the quarantine tank which is when the posts stopped. As fate would have it there had to be an ich outbreak shortly after so i had to treat with copper. Being malnourished and having to deal with the stress of copper, i think it was too much for the poor guy. Rest in peace 2×4. I will be looking for another flounder so when the time comes ill revive this post.

I think 2x4 just didnt adjust to aquarium life well. My last flounder ate like a pig. Id just turn the flow off and hed get every piece that hit the floor regardless of time of day.

I would do the same with 2×4 but he wouldnt move during the day so id always try at night. Even when pieces landed on his mouth he wouldnt go for it. I only got him to eat a single piece of shrimp.
