This was my original flounder, i had him about 12 years ago, and is the reason i got 2x4. his name was Waldo so i couldnt name a second one waldo.

Only screenshots from the video i posted earlier. I havent gotten many pictures yet. During the day hes always buried, he only comes out at night right now.

They dont bother corals at all but you are correct that small shrimp, inverts and fish are on the menu. They have deceptively large mouths for their size and flatness. But small flounders can be paired with larger shrimp just fine. Other than that they just need a lot of surface area of sand. They should have plenty or area to move around and bury in. And the one ive been posting is in my frag tank. His job is to stir up the sand, i was worried any goby i got would be on the floor the next day, and i really wanted a flounder Haha

Hes beaten me fully the past 2 days lol couldnt find him at all. Only been seeing him at night, but im happy to note 2x4 has finally started eating after a week in the tank!

Side note the diatom bloom has started so its going to be easy mode for a couple weeks once the sandbed turns brown lol

Well goid he eating and all going well.
I think after 2 months im at diatoms stage also.looks like laser burns all over tank.slowly day by day getting more.at moment im wishing i get lots algae ( but they say be careful what you wish for hey ^_^)

I got a flounder and i named him 2x4. One of my favorite things about flounders in a tank is trying to find them everytime i check out the tank.

So far hes only eaten some small pieces of krill and plankton. Im still trying to see what all he'll be willing to eat, but theyre still predators and will usually eat most meaty foods. Hes still really skittish so i have to turn the flow off and drop food right in his face.

I can’t really judge how big he is but maybe try some ghost shrimp to get him to eat in a more natural way?
