What exactly is the difference between the inland saw made for fragging/saltwater and the DB 100?

there both db-100 but i have been buying so many fo rthe saltwater trade that they made one with no type of metal. the plate is now plastic and the screws are all plastic as well so no rusting....

if you speak to most reputable glass artisan supply stores they do not sell inland due to their history of breaking down.

gryphon has less moving parts and water is on the bottom and motor on top unlike the inland

Actually, you would be hard-pressed to find a stained glass retailer that doesn't sell Inland products. As for THEIR choice to sell the $350 Gryphon saw over the $250 Inland saw? I am sure they are just thinking of you!
Neither saw has FEWER moving parts, two wheels, direct drive. But, the Gryphon couldn't fit that jumbo acan mentioned above. Their COPPER blades wouldn't do it any favors either. And with the sump on the bottom, you're gonna have stinger cells and toxins being concentrated onto whatever poor frag has to go last.

Can someone tell me if this is accurate?

• The DB100 is the normal saw which comes with an alulminum deck and metal(steel?) screws with 2 blades for $215 shipped on eBay.

• The DFS100 is the "frag saw" which comes with plastic deck and screws with 1 blade for $209 shipped from Nismo.

• The plastic replacement deck and screws are available for $15 from Inland.

If that is accurate, why wouldn't I want to buy to the normal DB100 and the plastic replacement kit? Total would be around $240(shipped) and I'd have an extra aluminum deck and blade for only $30 more than the "frag saw".

Am I missing something?

I know 3 people that have boke inlands including myself there not built that well IMO

I use the gryphon it is sweet higher end saw

How thick of a piece of rock/coral and you cut with this?

I will measure the spacing when I get home today. It's about the same as the inland. 1-2 inches I believe.
