Went with GEO last time. Any thoughts on 3 best reactors right now?

lol
Love my GEO setup.

Deltec twin tech calcium reactor, but not sure if you can get it in the states?

Love my Geo, but the Deltec reactors look amazing, especially the automated ones. But honestly, I would buy my Geo again without hesitation. He changed the design a few years back, so it doesn’t have the bubble issue like the older models.

Why not Geo again.

I would buy one again. I loved it’s simplicity and the blue and white color.

GEO is fine. There are a plethora of good reactors that all do a good job. None of them really separate themselves from a different brand - I currently use Korallin and a AquaMaxx (won it at a raffle), but have used about a dozen others. Each have their pros and cons, but all work well. How you run it will matter more than which one that you choose.

I have more thoughts on this in the paper linked in my signature.

You can still get it sometimes, but it sells out quickly. ARM works fine too - natural calcite media. You can also use crushed coral substrate, but better if you have a reverse flow reactor since it can compact as it melts and gets smaller.

It’s like 6-3-6.5 I think.
Ok, thx. The reason I ask is because I was shopping around for media since reborn is not coming in and I looked at Triton media, but the melting point is like 6.0-6.2 which is very low. I don’t wanna dump that much CO2 into system. I had a very low pH last time if I didn’t run the scrubber. The pH was down to like 7.3 at night I believe.

Glad to see your setting up another tank! Be sure to film some youtube footage for us!

Will definitely do that. I caught Covid and sold everything and had other things on my mind, but now I’m getting bored. So it looks like about 8K to start up again.

What happened to reborn? I really liked that media. Do you know what most people are using now as an alternative?
As jda mentioned, there was a period when it was unavailable and no one new if it would return, but fortunately it’s still around, but limited quantities. My LFS holds a bag or two for me whenever he gets some in, so I tend to hoard it when I can.

They need to ramp up production. I don’t wanna change back and forth. :)

I use ARM in the second chamber, which helps keep the pH from dropping too much and it seems to have a higher magnesium content than reborn, so I’ve never had to add remag with my setup. Also, my effluent goes directly into my fuge.
Forgive the wire mess, still need to mount some power bricks into 3D printed mounts that I have.
