Ok so I just purchased a new rodi system and have 2 sets of filters and di resin... when I do need to buy new ones I wanna get the best bang for my buck I guess you can say.

I currently am using regular sediment filters. 5 micron matrixx carbon. 0.6 micron matrixx carbon. And brs bulk color changing di resin

I heard someone say spectrapure di last longer but I wasnt sure if they have different types...

Spectrapure 1mic sediment, Spectrapure .5mic Carbon, Spectrapure SilicaBuster DI, and Spectrapure 60GPD membrane. Running an old Kent Hi-S Maxxus frame and housing.

Is there any difference between spectrapure and brs and matrixx when it comes to sediment and carbon filters?

I was looking up spectrapure di and they have 3 kinds. Mixed bed color changing. Mixed bed semiconductor grade and sodium form

Is there any advantage to the prefilled ones vs the fillable?

Other than just easier and costing more

I'm not a fan of keeping extras laying around waiting to be used (they supposedly have a shelf life) so I just buy a full one when it's time to change it. That's a personal preference.

I repacked my own once. Didn't work out real well. I'll just eat the $3 or whatever it was I tried to save and grab one that is prefilled! I didn't pack it tight enough and water was able to go around the beads.

I also use a silica buster.

$3 isnt much... I guess it would be faster to change.
How long does the di usually last you?

This is actually the first time in over a year I haven't packed my own resin. Lol, it's easy to do as long as you understand that it has to be tight. A piece of pvc with end cap is a great packer.

And I used to use the semi conductive from filter guys, along with their silica resin. Worked great! Lasted a long time.. And their matrix pre filters which also worked excellent. Particularity the guzzler! Loved that thing..

But im going inexpensive this round with an ro buddie that right now only has one di chamber. I have been thinking strongly about a second, filling half with silica resin and print it in line prior to the di resin.. That way, 2 digit carts with silica and regular di rejection

But I like filter guys a ton!

Ok so I got my system installed

My TCL and FCL are both 3 at the tap.

Tds is 122 at tap. 108 after sediment and carbons. 1 before di and 0 after di

And the psi says 27

Ouch... pressure level is low. You may need to grab a booster pump. Which membrane do you have in your unit?

I left the 1 micron brs carbon and added the 0.6 mic matrixx carbon. Im wondering if thats why my psi is so low... too much restriction???? I have a 5 mic matrixx I can install
