Hi all,

I currently have two tangs in my office system (750L) and I'm looking to add one more to complete my fish population. They are a blue and a Tomini. They get along fine and there is no aggression.

I was thinking about either adding a purple tang or a white tail bristletooth.
My common sense says that a purple would be a better option because with the white tail, it would add a second Ctenochaetus member. But then again, fish from the Ctenochaetus family seem to be very chill.

So could it work to have two of them in there, or am I better off with a purple?

The white tail is beautiful! Dream tang for me, but could not afford it at the time I was stocking..

I went with blue, purple and tomini. Works well for me in a 4 foot system.

Prices for purple and white tails are pretty much the same over here right now.
€150 for the purple, €170 for the white tail.

As long as the tank is 6 feet long, I would go with the purple. I agree with your reasoning.

Edit: Oh, and don't forget about the foxface group for tang-like fishes in a medium-large tank like yours. They fit in well as a 3rd or 4th 'tang', and they are gentle and difficult to bully because of their dorsal spines. The foxface or one spot is a nice big and yellow fish, and the magnificent is beautiful.
